Cutting

Textiles

There are thousands of textiles that can be cut with our laser. Paper, leather, rubber, cloth and wire mesh are only a few examples. The laser bonds the edges of most textiles, leaving a nice clean edge without frays.

Plastics /Acrylics

Most plastics cut very well with laser, leaving a polished finish on the edges that requires very little  if any final machining. Intricate and unusual shapes can be cut using laser. We also cut acrylic mirror and corrugated plastic. Neon acrylic is great for laser cutting; the laser leaves an edge that disperses light extremely well.

Woods
Some woods cut extremely well with laser. The laser leaves a slightly dark to dark edge on
the wood, this can be removed easily by wiping or slightly sanding the edges. Great for hobbyist and model making.

Manufactured Wood

There are specialty plywood products that can be found in hobby shops or specialty wood stores that will engrave and cut much nicer than standard plywood products purchased through your local lumber supplier.

I found your website and you may be just the service I was looking for. I am looking at building some plywood sailboats. The boat would be assemble with panels cut out of a single piece of 1/8″ or 1/4″ plywood. I have autocad files of the nested panels. Typically a trial set of panels would be cut to check the design and then a final refined layout would be made and used for future units. Lots would be five at a time. Is this work that you can do?
    Thanks

Standard lumber store plywoods do not cut very well do to the glues and laminations used in the manufacturing of these products. However, there are several hobby plywoods that cut much better, like those found in the hobby stores or at some speciatity lumber suppliers.

I have a question does the laser go all the way through the leather? I am a Houston clothing designer dealing with leather and would like to have a design etched into the leather but not burned through the material is this process possible?

The laser can cut completely through the leather as well as engraving intricate designs into the surface without going through the material.
